Calculate percentage of a number?

Tom Z
It takes more than a "?" at the end of a sentence to make it a question. Reset. Try again.

say yo wanted to find 10 percent of 95. Yo would take the decimal of 10 percent which would be .10 and multiply by 95 and you get the percent of the number

Dezz F
youll have to go a bit mor into detail. of any number?

Percent means “for every 100” or "out of 100." The (%) symbol as a quick way to write a fraction with a denominator of 100.

Here's an example, instead of saying "it rained 14 days out of every 100," we say "it rained 14% of the time.

Number-multiply -%- equals.

per cent means per hundred or divided by a hundred (" /100 " which is what "%" means). think cent like 100 cents in a dollar or a centennial is a hundred year anniversary. also, if you think of the "x" or "*" in multiplication as the word "of" it might help. so whatever number you want to use, put it in decimal form, divided by a hundred. so like, if you need to know what 25% of 75 is, make 25 into .25 (move the decimal one place to the left for each 10 you divide by: 25/10 = 2.5; 25/100 = .25) & do .25 x 75 = 18.75.

50% of 2 would be (50/100)2 or .50 x 2 = 1

I just don't get it...

How stupid are people getting these days? It's basic logic to figure out percentages, you shouldn't even need a formula to figure it out...

1 = 100%

So anything multiplied by 1 = Itself (duh...)
So whats something multiplied by 0.5?
50% of X!

e.g.

120 x 1 = 120
120 x 0.5 = 60

Now 150% of X

120 x 1.5 = 180!

Amazing isn't it...
