Can I claim my 16 yr old if she is working?
She works min wage at sonic, not sure of gross, but isnt she still my dependent

taxman
You can claim her as a dependent if she was a full-time student for at least half of the year. But when she files her tax return, she can't take herself as a dependent.

Yes.

y not u can do lot

tro
of course,
if she lives with you(6 months) and you provide more than 50% of her support, of course
she will file her own return on her own income

Note that she would have to file her own income taxes (her income would NOT go on your tax forms).

IRS Publication 501 has all the details about who you can claim as a dependent, etc.

The test is whether or not she supported herself.

Support includes her share of lodging and food. The support test worksheet is in IRS publication 501.

Assuming she still lives with you, you can unless she provides over half of her own support. Her share of the home expenses are considered part of your support for her.

card-ron
As long as she does not provide more than 1/2 of her own support and otherwise meet the qualifications for being a dependent you can still claim her.
