Yikes....is your BF the Bio father of both of your children? Is the father of your children claiming them on his taxes?
If your BF is the bio dad and he files taxes, he may claim.
If you file them on your Non Income, red flags will go up on his delinquent file as the kids will be linked to him. Bad news. Insist that he do the right thing and file his taxes. The fine and penalties will increase more for every year he does not file.
It is a federal crime not to report income. You're harboring, aiding and abetting the crime. Yikes. Then Mommy will be a felon too, nice. |

How can you file a tax return if you never paid tax for a job? |

You can't file INCOME taxes if you don't have an income.
Don't marry that guy or his tax problem becomes yours. |

yea, but you won't get anything back.
And your bf HAS to file. It's sort of the law. It's better that he pays now, and not in jail later. I wouldn't want the IRS knocking on my door. |

you can only get earned income on income you have earned- in other words, you cannot claim your children. your boyfriend that lives with you can claim your children and get earned income credit. the father of your children (if he's paying child support) can claim your children. You- because you have not worked, cannot claim them for earned income credit. |

How can you file taxes when you don't work? I think that answers it! |

You file taxes, and get a return, based upon income. Claiming the two children would do absolutely nothing for you. Let the father claim the kids and get the deduction or you're doing yourself no good. |

you wont get anything... |

No, if you were married you could file jointly and attach an injured spouse form. They wouldn't touch your portion of the refund, and he would pay off some of his debts. |

call your local library and ask them when they have tax helpers and make an appointment. I wouldn't mention the boyfriend. just say you get money from family members on a regular basis and that they aren't claiming you or the kids as dependants. See if you don't qualify for at least the Head Of household bonus money. (about 2000)
--------------------------------------...
Or........
Since you don't work, you could find a friend or relative that needs some dependants and allow them to use you 3 for dependants in exchange for 70% of the cash they save. May not be 100% legit, but I can't see you ever getting caught as long as no one else claimed you. They'd need you and the kids ss #s in order to claim you. Don't allow a Boyfriend to have yours or the kids ss #s |

You could actually get some child tax credits, even if you made no money. Consult a tax professional. |

It doesn't matter if you work or not, you still have to file taxes every year. Unless you have a spouse that can file as head of household or claim the kids instead of you, you SHOULD claim the kids on your taxes. |
