No - your child would have had to have been born in 2006 or earlier in order to be claimed as a dependent on your 2006 income taxes.

You can claim him on your 2007 taxes, which you will file in 2008. But you can not claim him on your 2006 taxes which you are filing now. Sorry.

NO, he was not alive in 2006 and therefore you did not support him, therefore he was not your dependent.
