Can I claim my daughter's wages?
My daughter made $2,100 for 2007 and I would like to know if I can include her wages with mine, which I am claimimg her as a dependant on my tax return?
NOPE, you could claim her unearned income, but not her W-2 income. She doesn't have to file at all, if this is total of her income. She files a dependent's return and should get back everything she had withheld. Can be done online, but must note she's been claimed as dependent.
Deliah
No she has to file her own return.
MoneyMonkey
Why would you want to? She didn't make enough to owe any taxes but the wages could be taxed if added to yours. You can't do that anyway.

NO you can't put her wages on your return.
She can file her own return.

NO! You NEVER claim a dependent's wages on your tax return. If that's her only income she does not need to file unless Federal income taxes were withheld form her wages, and only then to have that refunded to her.

NO!!!!!!! She must file her own return.

If your daughter is under 24 and you claim her as a dependent, then her wages should not be taxable.
Check IRS.com under dependants to be sure.
Why would you want to claim her income??? if you don't have to.
redhairedmama75
Nope

She has to file, which is good for her. She'll probably get all/most of her taxes back due to the low wages.......
Jay
Unless she gave you that money, you don't claim it as income.
As long as you paid more than 50% of her living expenses, you can claim her as a dependent.
