Don't know. Not enough information to say for sure.
How old is she?
Is she a full-time student for at least 5 months in 2007?
How long did she live with you in 2007? |

If you provided over half of her support for the year, yes you can, as a qualifying relative. If she claimed herself on her return, she will need to file an amended return dropping the claim. |

How did she file? If she already claimed herself and you try to claim her you must send in a paper return. The IRS will audit you both and decide who qualifies to take the deduction. If she is over 19 and not a full time student she is not a qualifying child.
To be your dependent (defined earlier), a person must be either your qualifying child (defined earlier) or your qualifying relative. Generally, a person is your qualifying relative if that person:
Lives with or is related to you,
Does not have $3,300 or more of gross (total) income,
Is supported (generally more than 50%) by you, and
Is neither your qualifying child nor the qualifying child of anyone else. |

On top of the questions the previous poster gave, here are a few more you'll need to work out before attempting to claim her.
1.) Is your daughter filing her own tax return, and if so did she list herself as a withholding allowance on her W-4?
2.) Did she list herself as "Exempt" on her W-4? If so, then yes, you can claim her, as she won't be filing a return to claim any Federal Income Tax.
3.) Is someone else her legal guardian? If so, then whether or not she resides with you may be moot, depending on the terms of the custodial arrangement. |
|

Mmmkay?
 |
yes - but only if she claimed herself as your dependent on her return. |

If she claimed hereself this tax season than you cannot claim her again. That is against federal law and is a very serious no-no. |

If you supported over 50 % of her upkeep for last year and she can not be claimed by any one else and she does not have to file taxes then yes you can claim her. Her age does not matter or her relationship to you. So by all means if she is not filing taxes put her on yours. |

Yes, you have to provide at least 1/2 of her support for the tax year and then you can claim her as a dependent. |
