Can I file my 2006 taxes before I receive my W4?
Additional Details As mentioned I meant my W2s. Can I file my taxes for 2006 BEFORE I receive my W2?
You will not be able to file your tax return before January 12 whether you have your W-2 or not. If you file by paper, you must include a copy of your W-2. If you file electronically, you will not have to include a copy, but you should keep a copy for your records.
If you cannot get a copy of your W-2, you can file after February 15 using form 4852 substitute W-2.

do you mean W-2? yes if you know the information on it and you do it electronically. If you have withholdings of any kind then you need to staple it to the state and federal returns

You cannot file your taxes without a W-2 until February 15th. After Feb 15, you can file with what's called a substitute W-2 but by then you should have your real one.
Nickname
The W-4 is the form you fill out when you first get the job. The W-2's which I think you meant, have to be attached to the 2006 tax returns.

Although I advise against it, if you are looking to get some money for the holidays or whatever you can check out Jackson Hewwit. They have instant loans for those who have an expected refund of $900 or more. The fees can be quite expensive, however, depending on your situation, it may be worth it.
