daniellecab21 | Can I file my 2008 taxes if 05,06,and 07 are not filed? |
I had a really hard time collecting W2's for those years I was moving so much. But i've had one steady job all year now and I want to get those filed right away. |

Sure, you can do the 2008s. And you have 3 years after their deadlines for the other years to file and receive a refund.
You can call the IRS or go to one of their offices to ask for your transcripts for those years. A transcript contains everything turned in to them against your social security number. That includes all W-2 and bank interest docs and things like that. So if you can't get your W-2s, you can at least get the info off of those to do your federal taxes returns. It won't have the info to do any state returns but federal is better than nothing since it is probably most of your refund. |

Go ahead and get 08 filed. Try and get your W-2's for the previous years and get them filed before you cross the three year deadline where you forfeit your refunds. |

My dear Danielle.....
Well.....I'm a "bit late"....- must be due to the fact that my answer had to "swim over the Atlantic"....ha-ha-ha- However....YES, you CAN file even if you haven't the previous years, Danielle !
And....if you still wish to file for "the previous years", then you have to "get kicking", because the deadline for 2005 expires in April ! So...get on the move, baby ! Good luck in the "struggle with the paper-work" -smile-
Sending you all my best wishes along with all my love & care....your friend..Annette*** |

The last date most people can file for 2005 is 4/15/2009. Get cracking.
You can use IRS form 4506-T to request copies of the federal data on the W-2s from the IRS. It won't have state or local data. |

Yes, file 2008.
You must also file your 2005, 2006 and 2007 tax returns if your income exceeded the filing requirements.
For info on how to get old W2s and 1099s,

If you didn't file 05,06,07 and your below what is meant to file then you have no fine, but if you don't file and make the amount you need to claim then you must file. |

Yes you can. I would try and do it A.S.A.P. You can file your taxes from the quality of your own home. Try Efile.com |
