you can file but the gov will notify them immediately of your address and work place. I would be very careful. Turn yourself in then file. My bother was awol. He turned himself in and it wasn't as bad as he thought it would be. |

i would assume you could. dont mean to be mean but why would you list yourself in the military, knowing this risk, and then go awol. i dont understand. i really suggest you report in a face the consequences. dont expect to go awol and then expect to get off free, especially when recruitment levels are low. |

Yes you can and be sure to tell them that you are AWOL and give them your address and phone number if possible. It is always a good idea to commit a criminal act and them give the government that is chasing you your address. Another stupid criminal for the television shows. |

If you made over the amount that requires you to file, then you not only can but are required to file taxes. If you're single, that amount is $8450 this year - if you made less that that, you're not required to file. |

Because you're currently in violation of the law, the address you use to file taxes will no doubt be used to locate you so you can be prosecuted.
I'm not sure why you asked this question so honestly and didn't expect people to respond in the way they have. Going AWOL is a pretty big deal, and lots of people feel strongly about it. No matter what your experience, it doesn't change the fact that you're AWOL. |
