Can I get back the medicare and social security taxes from the taxes subtracted from my paycheck?
This is for checks I received when I worked under 18 yrs. old. They shouldn't take taxes from minors, right?

What kind of forms do I have to fill out to get the money back from the IRS?

No form, because you can't get it back. The only way that you wouldn't have to pay social security and medicare taxes is if you worked for a parent. Otherwise if you worked at a job you have social security and medicare, and federal withholding and state withholding taken from a paycheck.

You don't. Any why would minors be exempt from paying it?

Even though you're a minor, you are accumulating credits toward your eventual social security, and toward disability payments if you become disabled.

Wayne Z
Nope.

Those are gone for good......wave bye bye.

Whether you are 17 or 77, you do not receive a refund of social security or medicare taxes.

You cant get that money back. You pay into the system while you are working so that when you are a certain age you can take advantage of medicare and Social Security. The more you pay into SS the more you can get when you are retired. You cant not pay these and then expect to get that money when you are older.

Sorry, everyone who earns income pays social security and medicare and income tax. No exclusion for minors.

The earnings, adjusted for changes in average reported earnings over you working years, will be figured into your benefits when you get to retirement age. Minimum wages I earned decades ago will be counted at over five times their original amounts.

You will have your "quarters" required to be filled done earlier than most.
I started working when I was 12 years old, and I am not quite 50, I have worked all required quarter years to be eligible for full social security benefits, now, since I am not old enough to draw, they are starting to count my highest years earnings to determine what my amount of benefits will be.
I don't think you can get them back...until you retire
