Self-employed persons don't pay into federal or state unemployment. I don't know what state you live in so I won't tell you 100% that you can't get any help at all from your state, but I can tell you you won't get help from the feds. |

You were an employee of the company and paid unemployment taxes to the state. Yes, you are entitled to unemployment. |

you can collect unemployment if you contributed to the unemployment fund in your state. however, some states do not require the participant to pay into the fund. the state pays into the fund but all states are different. you need to check into this and get a true answer. |

Unemployment benefits are paid from a fund established from money paid by employers. The employee does not pay for it. If you were not an employee then probably not. You must also be unemployed through no fault of your own which obviously is not true. |

You may have paid a lot of income taxes over the last ten years. But if you weren't an employee during that time, then no employer has been paying federal or state unemployment taxes on your earnings during that time. So you're probably not entitled to collect from unemployment now. |
