Can a person who only worked two months get alot of money back on their tax returns if they claim a child?

That depends.

They may or may not get a refund based upon their total income and the amount of taxes withheld.

If they qualify for the Earned Income Tax Credit, they will get something there but that will depend upon how much earned income that they had.

There should be something coming back, but I wouldn't necessarily call it "a lot" of money.

If they are eligible for the EIC, they can get more than they paid in. The qualifying child must have lived with you for over half of the year, and must be closely related to you in one of the ways that's listed for that - child, grandchild, sibling, niece or nephew. The amount of the EIC depends on income.

With a child, you might get back more than you had withheld from your paychecks. This would happen if you qualify for Earned Income Tax Credit (EIC). this is a refundable credit so you get money back even if you have no tax liability. You can get an estimate of how much it will be by going to the link below.

If you only worked two months in a financial year you should be able to reclaim tax. Everyone has a tax allowance for the year of around £5,000, which means that you should only start paying tax once you earn more than your allowance.

If you worked for two months you would have paid tax as if you were expected to earn the same amount a month for the entire year. You might be able to reclaim all the tax you have paid.

I don't understand how you claim a child? You might want to add extra comments to explain what you mean.
