They can't charge you for it. They are required by law to give you a copy. |

It is required by law to give you one, call them again and see what they say. |

they have to mail it to you for free you don't have to pay any thing, this is not right. you have to call the local office and complain. you were supposed to get it before 01/31/ |

NO,they are required,BY LAW,to furnish you with a copy, free of charge .If they do not, contact the IRS and report them. |

Absolutely not, in fact, they are legally obligated to have them available to you for tax purposes, much like a bank is legally required to provide paperwork on interest accumulated. |

It is a law that an employee must provide you a W-2 at no charge. If this a second copy or they're saying they already gave you one then they may be trying to charge you for a duplicate. |

who is you employer to charge you for a w2..It is against the law to charge you for it..It is a required law for them to supply you with it at no charge, and you should have them reported to the IRS |

Um yeah I don't think they can do that. You should receive your W2 free. Now if you are asking for a second copy they could charge you. |

No I don't think they charge you. Perhaps it's a reprint fee? Insist that you never received the original and make them waive the fee. |

Did they tell you that they mailed a copy?
I cannot charge for the initial copy, but I can charge a fee for extra copies.
The post office was flooded with mail last week, not just W-2s were due, by law there were 1099s, 1098s and hundreds of different tax reports that had to be mailed by the 31st.
Just wait a few more days to see if it turns up in the mail. |

absolutly not! They are required by law to give you a copy.
You might want to seek the advice of an attorney! |

It's my understanding that employers have to send you a W2. Are you sure the $15 fee is just to see it? Maybe the fee is to have them mail it to you rather than you print it out? |
