This is quite a regular occurance this day and age, I have had a few visits from them myself dont worry about it, in-fact ask them what else you may be intitled to. I work and have done for many years but this dos'nt stop me being able to claim a few extra little bits of help i.e Vunerable tariff for my water rates and single occupancy for my council tax, got nothing to loose by asking. All the best.

Not unless you have been on the fiddle. They send people round to check your details etc are correct.

i doubt your in trouble, if they were trying to catch you out for anything they wouldn't tell you they were coming round! from previous experience its probably because they want to come round and check the place is worth the rent being charged and if they will pay the full amount with housing benefit. they will have checked the going rate in your area then they'll just want to come round and have a look and maybe clarify some of the answers on your form. i wouldn't worry.

All housing/council tax benefit claimants have to have a visiting officer attend their home at least once in every two years.

All they are doing is checking your claim through in your home

Had you of done something wrong like fraud then you would have received a letter telling you the benefits had stopped first

some councils do spot checks to make sure the person on the claim lives there and they are not sub letting. hope all is ok for monday.

they do this occasionally. don't worry about it as long as you are not on the fiddle.

sounds to me like they are wanting to check that your claim is genuine. Just checking you aren't doing anything you shouldn't like telling them you are single when in fact you have a family, or working when you have told them you are unemployed. They may already know the answers so think about what you may have done and have an answer for them. If you were in trouble they would normally ask you to goto them. Good Luck.

most councils do routine checks every couple of years to check the details they have got are up to date if they supected you of anything they would not tell you first and would just turn up to get you of guard so dont worry

its probably just a routine check to ensure that what you have told them is correct.

they will look around the house for any evidence that contradicts what you put on the forms to them.

if you feel you havent done anything wrong then there is nothing to worry about.

if you have lied, be quick and hide the evidence.

Would have to know more details. Do they mean a council officer or police officer? One is bad, the other is very bad. If you pay your tax then relax..

Don't worry. It means a visitor will be confirming your circumstances are correct. For you benefit.

it maybe just be something routine, besides if your claim is genuine there shouldn't be a problem. Although it should say in your letter WHY they are coming around in the first place as normally think you might be required to make an appointment to see them at their offices.

i would imagine that they want to check that you are receiving the correct benefits. There's no point worrying, just wait to see what they want.

perhaps you did not fill in the forms correctly - if you have told the truth then all should be well - if not then yes

NO! Dont worry. They do this now. Its a home visit where they check your bank statements. Its just to make sure you are really who you say you are etc. I had a visit once while on benefit. They do it randomly, and it happens every so often, maybe once every 2 years.

Richard U
If you done nowt wrong-ie claiming when you shouldn't-don't worry, maybe someone has told them something about you that isn't true, see what they have to say on Monday, but don't lose sleep over it.

Depends if you have a job and are claiming benefits?
