You have to pay federal tax everywhere.

There is no state income tax in Alaska, Florida, Nevada, South Dakota, Texas, Washington, and Wyoming. Additionally, New Hampshire and Tennessee limit their state income taxes to dividends and interest income only

Two potential tax protesters in the past little while.......

Here is the federal law:

Title 26 - Internal Revenue Code
http://www4.law.cornell.edu/uscode/html/uscode26/usc_sup_01_26.html

The specific state law would vary by state. I hope you would at least know that........

Tax Protester: "Where is law?"
Sane Person: "Title 26 - Internal Revenue Code."
Tax Protester: "Why won't you show me the law?"
Sane Person: "It's right here like I showed you. Title 26."
Tax Protester: "Why won't anyone show me the law?"
Sane Person: "Earth to Nutjob....Title 26 - Internal Revenue Code."
Tax Protester: "If you can't show me the law, there must not be one!!!"

Federal - the Internal Revenue Code
State - there are separate ones for each state, no single one for the entire country

No, but I can, with his permission, give you the address of a friend of mine who decided that income tax was unconstitutional because he couldn't find mention of it anywhere. So he stopped paying. Then he stayed two years in Federal penitentiary, until he decided he might pay them, after all. He's been real quiet, since then.

No but I can point you in the direction of an IRS agent who can automatically draft from your bank account without any legal proceedings. Pay your taxes, they WILL catch up with you.

This is something that the tax evasion crowd comes up with from time to time. In fact, the IRS included it in their list of frivilous tax arguments. Here is a pdf that discusses these and also lists some people who were still prosecuted after trying to use these arguements in court as reasons to not pay taxes.

Try not paying federal or state taxes, and you'll be shown exactly what the laws are, and where they are located.
