If you've got as far as bailiffs calling you have very little in the way of rights left. Bailiffs don't have to take a payment plan because they have an order from the court to secure payment of your debt. I would get on to the court who issued the liability order and start begging because yes, the bailiffs can take your car.
Don't let bills get as far as bailiffs (you would have been contacted on numerous occasions before the court sent the bailiffs). |

Yes they can take anything they want,even if it's your partners.
They take what ever is that that address.
Don't ignore them even if it's £5.00 a month it's something.

Bailiffs can't take the car if it belongs to your partner. Who's name is on the log book? You may have to show that. If car in your name, even if it is for your partner's use, they can take it. |

Yes they can take it-if you live with your partner and that car is registered at that address they can take it. |

The car has to be in your name. But bare in mind that the bailiffs have a warrant to size goods totalling the amount owned. This warrant can entitle them to gain access & remove items from your property. |

Umm yes and no, if the debt is solely in your name they may take the car but if you can prove that the car doesnt belong to you then they have to give it back. They arn't allowed to take anything that doesnt belong to you personally unless the debt is in both names. Also they can't take anything your still paying for, because technically that doesnt belong to you till its paid for. For example if you have a computer from Dell you pay for monthly they cant take it aas long as you can prove your still paying for it. the best bet with your partners car is to park it off your property, they wont be able to touch it as they wont know it belongs to your partner. |
