Hannah | Can businesses take taxes out of your paycheck if you're a minor? |

If you make it, they will take it.
It doesn't matter how old you are, you have to pay taxes. If you don't its against the law |

Not only can they but they are REQUIRED to. Your age has NOTHING to do with it. If you earn enough money, you pay taxes regardless of your age. |

They are required to take taxes out of your check, as long as you have income.
Next year, you'll file your taxes, and if your parents still claim you on theirs, you should get all of it back. |

If you have a Social Security Number, are old enough to work-you pay taxes...unless you are contract and make less than the required amount to file...If you exceed the amount, your employer would send you a 1099 to pay your taxes by.....It is always best for your employer to take out taxes.
You can however use the IRS witholding calculator to make sure too many taxes are not being taken out, then change your dependants accordingly.... |

Yes. Income tax is based on your income, age does not matter. |

They not only can, but are required to. Being a minor doesn't relieve you of the obligation to pay tax. |

Yes they can. If your parents get money back next year, ask them if you can have your portion. I did that with my kids. |
