If you provide more than half of his support for the year and his gross income for the year is less than $3300, then you probably can.

If several people combined, maybe siblings but doesn't have to be, combine to pay over half of his support, and you personally pay over 10% of his support, then you might be able to claim him under a multiple support agreement signed by all others contributing more than half of his support saying they won't claim him and allowing you to do so.

Unlike other dependents, a parent doesn't have to live with you to be claimed as a dependent.

NO, he has to claim himself. I assume he is getting SS and he will get a notice in mail and file himself.You can not do it.
