I sincerely hope not!!

andy
Dont think you can and if you cant, but go and get your money paid into a UK bank and dont tell DWP, you could find yourself in big trouble. Ask your local benefit office about imported benefits. People who come to the UK from Europe, their country they have just come from pay their benefits

Dawn
Hi, I've been living in Menorca since July and i have a 9 year old child. I do not receive any benefits from the UK.

chicding
If you can afford to move to Spain you shouldn't be getting any benefits. No wonder this country is in the mess it is

Mand P
I'm sure that you can claim your incapacity benefit if you live abroad because my Uncle lives in Tenerife and still gets his.
Ask at your local benefits office or Citizens Advice.
I'm not sure about Tax Credits though..

so do u think we 've got to work our socks off only to be paying tax for you to go to Spain, that must be a joke !!!

Hi >
My understanding is that yes, entitlement continues.
In any case, if your benefits are payed directly into a maintained UK account, you can withdraw cash at any ATM in the world, and put it into a local account.
Might well be the easiest method. as long as relevant mail is forwarded to you to keep things up to date.
Bob.

cherylmitch72
No you cant, you have to be living in this country.

So many ignorant people on here.. Spain is part of the EEC and as such yes he can get his benefits & dla paid in Spain and why not..? I would expect to also having paid my National Insurances for years too! Oh and just to add.. Spain is actually a much cheaper place to live that in the Uk..
