No, and the IRS has a 10 year statute, from the date the tax is ASSESSED to collect, and in some cases they can "lean" on you to sign a waiver to extend the statute, especially if you are being a wise guy.

You don't go to jail for owing money in the US. You may go to jail for tax fraud, but not for owing taxes. Because the jail time is not for owing taxes, it does not effect the debt.
