This was past debt I owed that I couldn't make enough money to pay. Now the collection agency deduct my pay from my paycheck. I don't know what to do? How could it be easier? You do not have to do anything, you are paying them.
They are not taking any of YOUR hard earned money, they are recovering THEIR hand earned money. |

Yes, if you owe money and don't pay it, someone can get a court order to garnish your paycheck. |

They are garnishing your wages to pay off your debt. You had a chance to negotiate a payment plan. For whatever reason, you didn't. They went to court and got a judgment against you to garnish your wages until the debt is paid off. There is not much else you can do. |

Debt is a horrible thing to be in. You don't have the money the pay them - but then - you didn't have the money to spend either.
The only thing you should buy - without having the money in hand to pay for it - is a house. |

Sorry but there's nothing that you can do now in most cases.
Creditors can't just take money from your pay. They have to get a court order first. To do that, they have to sue you and win. It would appear that you ignored the summons and they got a default judgment against you. Once that happened, the court ordered you to provide financial information so that the court could determine the maximum amount of any garnishment. You ignored that as well so the court was forced to order the maximum garnishment allowed by law.
Your ONLY chance now is if you never received the original summons or it was not properly served. That does happen sometimes but you're going to need an attorney to help you out with that if you allege improper service.
Hiding your head in the sand will never make these things go away as you have now learned. They MIGHT be willing to drop the garnishment action IF you make arrangements to pay them and stick to your agreement. However your track record with them is poor so don't expect them to be willing to help you now. |

If they sued you and got a judgment, in most states they can garnish your wages until the debt is paid off with all the fees and interest. |

You should have responded. Yes, they have the legal right
to deduct from your paycheck. They can also add daily
interest to the amount owed. You can declare bankruptcy,
get a second job and send payments to speed up paying off the debt, take out a loan or borrow the money. I speak from personal experience. |

debt doesn't magically go away on its own. You should have called the company and explained the situation, you could have mailed them 5 bucks a month and they couldnt do anything to you. Dont quit your job, they will find you. They are only allowed to collect a certain percentage of your paychecks and only for a certain time. If you switch jobs they can start all over. My advice is to get a second job. At this point they will probably not negotiate with you. P.S. It is also law that since they have suit against you they can also wipe out your bank acct. |

set up a monthly payment plan and have them deduct it out of your pay only for a small amount over a period of time or just quit your job and find a new one |

File for ch.13 Bankruptcy...while in a ch 13 all secured loans will be paid back..it will be taken out of your check but its a whole lot less than the pct. probably being garnished now..also I noticed someone posted they can clear out your bank account...they cannot do that they can only garnish your paycheck unless your sued in a federal court. |
