I believe that almost any bank will cash a federal check.

viajero_intergalactico
of cousre, but you will pay dearly.

travelguruette
For the stimulus check, many stores are offering to cash it for free if you put the money on a gift card that you can only use for that store. Target was (still I dont know) giving you a gift card of $660 for a $600 stimulus check.

Whatever bank the check is drawn on may cash it for you with lots of id.

yes, you need your id

and likely will pay a service fee for doing so, either x amount or a % of the check.

But you'll have to go to a bank to do it,

to save on the fee, start up a bank account when you cash the check

try a check cashing place in your city or wal-mart they are cashing them for free.

You can't have a third party cash a State or Federal check, even at a bank...You need to shop around and see who can give you the best deal on cashing it for you...Usually you can find a tobacco store, or a State liquor store to do this for you...It may be 1% to 3% for a good deal. A bad deal is any thing more than 4 or 5%...

Ms. Angel..
As long as you have identification most banks might cash them and charge a fee.

It will be hard and a check cashing place will rip you off with some exorbitant interest rate... You could always open a new account somewhere and then withdraw the money the next day... Or sign the check over to someone you know you can trust like your mom or dad, have them deposit it and give you the money.

I tried cashing it at places I didn't have an account at years ago and nobody wants to take it. Sure it is a federal check, but how do they know that it's not counterfeit?
