Child tax credit?
if i receive £46 a week child tax credit will i receive the same for my 2nd child? also does working tax credit change with arrival of 2nd child?

stormydays
Child tax credit for a baby under 1 year is slightly higher so you will receive approx £55 per week when the new babe is born. This will be paid in addition to the current payment of £46 per week

Your working tax credit will be slightly increased but its hard to say to what because it is based on last years earnings and the current years circumstances.....

jessica
Yes, depending upon the country and rules
Obviously you tax will lower and benefit will be more

Purple Goat
Depends on your earnings. Send them a letter about your change in circumstances and keep a copy. If they overpay you after you give them accurate info then you keep the noney.

Yes you'll get more money for the second child, i don't think its as much. Also the same for working tax credits, you also get some more. Sorry i'm a bit vague, someone else will propbably know more :)

Think babies get a bit more than toddlers it goes down with age, so new baby should have higher amount than child you already have. child benefit is the same though. You get a baby allowance or something like that with child tax credits cant remember what its called exactly, single parents get more on child tax credits. As to working tax credits affecting amount of child tax you get i dont think it does. Ring tax credits they will be able to tell you whats what.
