Corrupted taxes?
To the government,

i go to school full time and working to pay for my school. Im barely sliding each semester so im limited to extra spendings. Now i owe $500 to federal and $200 for state. This should not happen for students going to college, so what is your answer??

I don't see an corruption here, just that you did not have enough tax taken out of your pay and now you owe some tax.

The costs of establishing an installment plan are high, so try other means of coming up with the money in time to pay the taxes you owe.

Since you go to school full-time and are paying your way, and you owe tax, have you figured any education benefits on your tax return? You may be eligible.

If you end up owing tax, take more out of your pay in 2007 to avoid this problem this coming year.

Your income and withholding determine what you will owe at the end of the year. If you have properly prepared your return you have few options. You can request an installment plan.

welcome to the "big city" i met plenty on people in my work who thought they were special and should not have to pay all their tax debt for one reason or another. I never found even one that i could agree was special enough not to have to pay. On the other hand does the gov't/IRS have corrupt/incompetent employees? you bet your asss they do. I personally founf former IRS Commissioner Rosotti to be incompetent and the IRS knows who i am and i welcome them to a public debate on this anytime as i have the evidence to back me up, But no one cares, to include US Senators i wrote, FOX news champion of the people Bill OReilly (he is clueless about the IRS) and numerous others, but i digress. in the "big city" some cheat/are incompetent etc and get away with it, some don't. Does that help?

Boo Hoo. How about doing a better job planning your taxes?

Tax burdens happen to everyone with taxable income, no matter what their station in life or their chosen career.

You can file a request for Installment payments with your federal tax return. It won't do any good to file a request for extention of time to file, as they want payment along with the extention which also has to be filed by April 17th. (As to the state tax bill, they'll probably want that all at once.) It's a good idea to pay at least a token amount with the tax return and installment payment request. Here is what the IRS web site has to say about it.

"How to Set Up an Installment Agreement

Taxpayers wishing to pay off a tax debt through an installment agreement, and owe:

$25,000 or less in combined tax, penalties, and interest can use the Online Payment Agreement (OPA) or call the number on the bill or notice (have the bill or notice available, along with the social security number). A fill-in Request for Installment Agreement, Form 9465, is available online that can be mailed to the address on the bill.

More than $25,000 in combined tax, penalties, and interest may still qualify for an installment agreement, but a Collection Information Statement, Form 433F may need to be completed. Call the number on the bill or mail the Request for Installment Agreement, Form 9465 and Form 433F to the address on the bill.

You will receive a written notification telling you whether your terms for an installment agreement have been accepted or if they need to be modified."
