Council Tax set to soar!?
You might say 'So what's new', but you may also ask 'Why'?
The authorities claim the costs are justified, and amongst them the costs of immigration is claimed as one. Many people will find it a further struggle to meet this extra cost factor, added to which the cost of Electricity, Gaz, Oil, and ultimately petrol costs will all rise. Do you beleive that the Council Tax increase is really necessary and why. Is the Government slyly preparing us for the full participation into the European Union?

What have the immigration costs got to do with my council tax bill? I don't want immigrants here so I shouldn't have to pay for them, there should be a separate tax, paid for by immigrants that are already here to support them.

I do not clame govt workers for not wanting a 3 year fixed pay deal at 1.9%/

They will be much worse off an this only works if government can control costs.

Plainly it cant.
Also look at our budget deficit.

This happens EVERY year. I'm just amazed it is only 4%.
I bet it ends up being more than 4% !!!

no whats going on is this, the UK is in decline from and ageing population and drains on the state i said years ago how it would happen in stages.
tThe pension would become worthless it has
The NHS will be dropped its not far off its under alot of strain and there are cut backs all year round.
The welfare system will stop which will cause riots large scale.
Lastly the police will walk out and law and order will be gone.
result all out war and that is what the UK and the European Union has in store and thats why I now live far away where I can grow old in peace

nagbag
It's going up by twice the rate of inflation (which we are told is around 2%!). Services will be cut as well due to withdrawal of some Government funding.
I don't know about preparing us for the EU, but we are being treated with contempt by people whose salaries we pay.
Preparing us for the Revolution??

They say that it will now be over £1000 per household, well we have been paying £1400 for the last 2 years.
We only live in a 2 bed terraced house.
I feel very strongly about this as the money could be spent far more wisely. We still have to use bin bags in this area while 5 miles down the road in the Hampshire border they have plastic wheelie bins plus the black recycle ones.
The roads are not kept up even the the standard of 3 - 4 years ago.
We have been flooded twice in 2 years, why? Because the drains are never cleared.
We have had one of the largest amount of immigration in this area putting a strain on the schools etc, I would like to know how many of them are paying full council Tax.
I could go on and on.
It is a another way of the government getting out of paying the money and squeezing it of us.
And the worse thing is that you have to pay, as they are above the law so there is no way of contesting the amount once set.

I'd really like to know, as opposed to some sort of spin, where all the monies we pay, always increasing, actually goes and what it is spent on. Having said that,I'm not so sure now otherwise I'll have to get on my soap box and then be labelled as something or other by the loony left.

all i know is it sucks. they're trying to kill us! we're taxed too much as it is, soon there will be nothing left over from our wages. it's a struggle for so many of us already to keep up to date with our bills, our taxes, and everything else. if they increase it further it's going to be a disaster for a lot of us.

These escalating costs to the ordinary people of the UK are a frightening prospect, many of these costs will without doubt, cast a large and detrimental burden on a vast number of citizens who are already struggling to meet current bills.

It has been suggested that immigration is part of the necessity to implement these increases.?The blunders made with immigration to this country are the sole responsibility of the current government.

We have already seen what a shambles the government has made with the police pay which =had been agreed= and then overturned, but =Police in Scotland= have got the increase,no wonder our lads went walk about, that is victimisation -they- cannot go on strike and the government are taking disgraceful advantage of that.
If this implementation of council tax increase goes ahead the numbers of police on that march of objection will pale, into insignificance the citizens will show a much stronger objection not only by, their numbers who -will march- but also, by the ballot box =Take Note Mr Brown= we are not putting up with any more taxes stealth or other
methods of taxation= enough is too much already=.

I am so worried about the council tax increase.
My family is really struggling to make ends meet at the moment.
My wages pay the bills and we have around £10.00 per month left out of them. How will I afford to pay more coucil tax?
We are considering our options, maybe selling up and moving into a caravan.
We are sick of paying out all that we earn.

Barbarian
Excuse me the estimate is 4% and this is the 11th consecutive years or rise above inflation. It is therefore a net influence on our living costs. I dont think why? is a question anymore. The question should be How do we sensibly stop this and the other increses we are experienceing?
