just go to your local benefits office,you'll find their address in the phone book. Better to go and get one in person rather than phoning up and asking, just speeds the process up a bit. they do say that they give priority to cetain cases eg. a lone parent with children will get priority down to a single person with no dependents. There is also an upper limit to the amount of money you can ask for and i think it's around £1300 but not entirely sure about that figure. They will send a letter after a few weeks stating if you have been successful and you post back your acceptance. Then you agree to the amount that you will pay back each week, there is the chance to take out a further loan while you are still paying off the first one but they do set an upper limit |

Do you mean a Social Fund loan from the department of health and social security ?
You can get the forms online from job centre plus website or you can contact your local branch for a form
NB its always worth applying for a community care grant first because it does not have to be repaid unlike a social fund loan |

Phone your local DHSS office and they will give you the telephone number you need for your area. You have to phone this number and get the forms off them. It takes a few days to get the form from them and about three weeks once you send the form off.
Rules have changed regarding how much you can get now, depending on the size of family and how much income support/other eligible benefit you get. |
