You must be the most brilliant undiscovered lawyer in the world! Please explain how no lawyer has ever kept anyone out of jail with all these codes and constitutional knowledge you are sharing. Someone should have told Al Capone this little nugget.
I work for the IRS and I invite you to please come and enlighten us all on this more. Send us your name, address and protest letter and I'm certain someone will soon come visit you bearing gifts of bracelets, a whole new wardrobe and a nice new hotel fer ya. Believe me you will sit there until they find that wonderful news. All those parting gifts will surely be supplied by your loud dressing uncle. For all others who may read this...This person is labeled a 'frivolous filer' with much attention put upon her IF she ever sends her beliefs into one of our processing centers. It is very possible that she doesn't have the income of over $5000.00 a year nor does she realizes that if it were at all true someone would've definitely done away with tax collecting by now. Misinformed people are sad because they run their mouths without any concern for the real welfare of others. |

Yeah, a guy I know told me the same thing......for three years he never filed his taxes and he thought he was getting away with something........then his bill got high enough with penalties and fines that they took notice.
Froze all his accounts, started garnishing his wife's paycheck (he worked under the table) and made him unable to open new accounts or obtain new loans etc.
Not pretty............and they aren't done yet. |

My brother got sucked into this once. He was shown a video detailing how the IRS was not a government agency but was owned by the Rockerfellers or something ridiculous like that. Tax evasion is a federal crime and you can do prison time for it. Don't end up like Wesley Snipes. |

I could use all that money too, however, just try not paying taxes and see what happens. They seize your property, your assetts, and make your life miserable. Maybe it isn't a law, but they sure act like God. |

Can you give us a reference to this supreme court decision that says the US government does not have the right to collect taxes?
From what I have heard, lots of people have tried to use this as an excuse and lots of people have gotten into trouble because of it.
Here is what the IRS says about these arguments (plus some others) They give lots and lots of cases you can reference.
http://www.irs.gov/pub/irs-utl/friv_tax.pdf
Check these cases out. They are precedent that is used to determine how to prosecute others who try to pull this stuff. Your argument will not work because others have tried to use it and have failed. |

Tell that to the judge.
I'll visit you in prison. |

1) "However, the Supreme Court has ruled the 16th ammendment DOES NOT allow the Government to tax income "- No it didn't. It ruled the 16th does not give congress any addtional taxing authority. That is because they already have it. The 16th just removed the apportionment clause.
2) "the IRS does not define income in its code" - It doesn't have too. Congress didn't define "income" as they wanted the courts to decide what is and what isn't.
Continue on your "Tax Protestor" path and you might end up in jail. |

Let me know when you get out of prison. Where do you think that the government is going to get the money to run itself? |

No they do not define income, all income is taxable unless it is specifically exempted.
You want to try to get out of paying taxes then try the stupid tricks that everyone else has done. IRS will go after you before you can close your bank account.
Dear, when was the last time you paid for military protection? Coast Guard life saving measures? Natural Forest conservation? Food and Drug Administration or the Center of Disease Control Fee? |

There are a number of people who have tried to sell this idea, and are now sitting in prison. Don't believe everything you hear, or see on the Internet. |

You have been sold a bill of goods. Some of the people slinging this baloney actually believe and they do end up in federal prison. Think Nellis, NV in July. The 16th amendment was properly ratified, the Supreme Court has so held many times. Just search for Commissioner v. Glenshaw Glass Co., 75 S.Ct. 743 (1955). Open your eyes. |

yeah, but IRS will come after you. Everyone must pay their shares. |

Yes there is a law. There have already been cases that went to the supreme court... and yes you do have to pay income tax.
If you want to not pay it , simply refusing to pay will land you in jail. If you feel that the laws on the books that govern income taxes are unconsitutuional, there is a process in place where you can challenge the laws in court. If you win, great. If you lose, pay up. BUt simple refusal to comply is stupid and you will end up in jail.
Neither the U.S. Supreme Court nor any other Federal court has ever ruled that any Federal income tax imposed under the Internal Revenue Code of 1986 is unconstitutional. |

The IRS was designed as a tool to help the Government handle their Fiscal Responsibilities. In the 1930s , after the 1913 Tax Act was passed, the Law was used against Bootleggers like the Capones, Kennedys and every old money family in America.
Amendment XVI (the Sixteenth Amendment) of the United States Constitution, authorizing income taxes in their present form, was ratified on February 3, 1913. The amendment states:
“
The Congress shall have power to lay and collect taxes on incomes, from whatever source derived, without apportionment among the several States, and without regard to any census or enumeration.

Thats the 16th, it explains what, why and how.
There was a Decision in 2004 that had an effect on this act, but the Goverment didnt put out a PSA on it. /g |
