Most people will receive their rebates the same way they choose to receive refunds on their tax returns -- by direct deposit into their bank or other accounts, or by check in the mail.
If you haven't filed a return yet and you qualify for a rebate, you can select either method when you file.
Under certain circumstances, however, the IRS has decided that taxpayers can only get their rebates by mail, even if they get their refunds by direct deposit. At TurboTax, this will happen if you use a "refund transfer" when filing your 2007 return. This service lets you pay for your tax preparation and/or e-filing from your refund proceeds, for an additional fee, under an agreement with Santa Barbara Bank & Trust .
The IRS also says that taxpayers who use "refund anticipation loans" or RALs (loans made to tax filers against their expected refunds) will also be unable to receive their rebates by direct deposit. TurboTax does not offer RALs. |

I'm in that same situation. I was supposed to receive the direct deposit yesterday as my social ends in 03...and nothing yet. I have Bank of America and they said that they "don't hold any direct deposits," but I know a few other BOA customers that haven't received their's either. Damn IRS. |

Haven't received mine yet either! Filed my taxes in February, last 2 digits #12. Supposed to get direct deposit - so far nothing. IRS has an on line tool "Where's My Stimulus Payment?" where you can track your payment, but it sure didn't work for me! |

Don't know, I got mine. Maybe it is your bank. When I got my tax refund the money was in the account but my bank wouldn't let me withdraw it for a couple of days. My # ends in 08 |

well i was told we get them the 2nd as well. if your social security number ends in 00 to 29 you should have. I am disappointed to cuz we depend on that money. i know they said the first checks go out maybe we dont get them til today or monday! which would SUCK.

i havent recieved mine either. i am depending on that check so we can get caught up on our bills. i am going to be pissed if i have to wait another couple weeks for it. we filed early feb. and the last two ss# is 00. what the hell |

I'm in the same boat! Although one comment said that even if you did direct deposit, if you went through Turbo Tax and had them take the tax filing fees out of your refund, it may take longer. I did this! ::crosses fingers:: Maybe this is why I have not received mine.

I didn't receive my stimulus either and mine ends in 05. I spoke with my credit union and they tried to check it out for me and could find nothing. What really sucks is that there is no way to get hold of the friggin' IRS to find out what happened. Maybe my local newspaper can get some answers. |
