Single taxpayers must file a 2007 Federal Income Tax return if your gross income was $8750 or more.

Yeah you probably do... But PLEASE read the to MAKE sure.

Do You Need to File a Federal Income Tax Return?
http://www.irs.gov/individuals/article/0,,id=96623,00.html

Read it all the way to the bottom and hit the YES or NO buttons.

Also... WHY NOT FILE? YOU MIGHT GET MONEY BACK...
Not sure ? me either so here is what I did...
Got to http://www.irs.gov/
Look on the LEFT hand side of the page and see the FREE TAX FILING? Choose one of those and follow the LINKS.
It's SO EASY to do and dude.. you might get money BACK.
WHY let THEM keep it?

If your adjusted gross income was $54,000 or less in 2007, you can use Free File to prepare and e-file your taxes online.

I don't have enough information to answer your question, but it could depend on whether or not the money you earned was taxable income, as well as your age and how much less than $10K you earned.

However, since the government is going to send out Rebate checks this year, you must file for you taxes (a 1040 or 1040-EZ, etc.) to get the Rebate. Depending on your personal criteria, age, dependents or dependent status, you could receive an additional $300.00 or more.

Here's a link to a site that will explain the Rebate, the potential amount you could get, as well as the process for getting such: http://www.kiplinger.com/columns/ask/archive/2008/q0214.htm

GOOD LUCK!
