Do I have to file taxes if I only worked on week in 2007?
I only worked on week and that is all that I worked in 2007. My boyfriend claimed me and our daughter cause he supported us. I did not file because I only had worked that short time. Do I need to file that or since he claimed us do I need not worry about it?

Unless you earned $5,350 or more in that one week there's no need to file. If you had any Federal income tax withheld you'll need to file to have it refunded.

Since you are a dependent you're not eligible for a stimulus rebate, and you'd need $3,000 in income to qualify even if you weren't a dependent.

State returns are another matter possibly. Some states, such as PA, have a very low filing threshold. PA is only $33 so if you live in PA you probably need to file a PA return.

It's probably not a requirement for you to file. If you made greater than $5,350 in that one week (first off, congratulations!), then you will need to file a return. You can not claim your child, since she is already claimed as a dependent, and you will not be allowed a personal exemption for yourself.

The only point in filing would be to claim the Federal Withholding you had taken from your check. I can't imagine this being very much for one week of work, though.

Forget filing just to get the Stimulus Rebate. As a dependent, you're ineligible.

Hope this helps!! Any other questions, just ask!

If you made under $8750 and social security was taken out, you don't have to file. If ss was NOT taken out, then the filing limit is only $400.

NOPE don't need to file, and don't need to worry about that, as long as you (a dependent) made less than $3000, which I assume.
And as a dependent you're ineligible for stimulus rebate
Assuming this was not self-employment income? If it was and you made more than $300 you do have to file. . . . .

That would depend if you had worked thru an employer. By law anytime you work for a company the employer has to file a tax statement in order for you to get your income tax at the end of the year, plus.. anytime you work, no matter if it's a week or 3 days it would be best to file to be on the safe side. If your boyfriend ( on the other hand) has claimed you and your daughter, he would then put the both of you on his claim to be compensated in case of injury to him while on the job. File just in case though.

Don't worry about it for now ,just make sure you saved your Pay stub and records just in case, present it the next time you file or include it your boyfriends return ,always cover all angles,Lilac rose is right; you should ask anyway , you might be covered with the stimulus package SMILE

Yes, you do need to file, unless you submitted a joint return and he included your income in his tax declaration. You can file a 'nil' return - that means you didn't make enough money to have to pay taxes. But you do have to file a return,.

I wouldn't file anything since you did not earn enough income. But I would encourage you to file since you might have been eligible for the Stimulus payment package.
