Only HMRC can give a ruling on this. You do not appear to be present in the UK for more than 90 days a year, but you retain a residence here, so this may have a bearing on your residence status. Also, you don't say what income you have arising here.
We are all great tax experts here, but even we can't make residence rulings on behalf of HMRC!

I think you will get away with not payin tax, I think you have to be in the country alot longer!

I think if you are out of the country for more than six months a year you are exempt from tax.

You're not giving enough information. Which country are you resident in? Is there a tax treaty between the two countries? Yes, you almost certainly do have to pay UK tax on your earnings here but you may be able to offset it against tax you pay in your own country. It depends on the agreement between the two countries and yes you ought to visit a tax office to get the proper information.

WTF is bifta?

midge
I think if you are registered as living abroad you don't have to pay tax, but if you do that you are then limited to how long you can be in the country I think its 90 days in the year. It also depends on where your income is coming from too.

Contact them they are very helpful, I moved to France they helped me a lot and even gave me some money back but on the terms I couldn't go back and earn in the UK for a set period. Your p60 form that you get each year should have your local tax office telephone number on it.

The tax office will tell you the truth.

Ring HMRC, specifically the CAR Residency office on +44 151 210 2222. HMRC does not give residence rulings anymore under the basic laws of Self Assessment. However, they can give you advice on how to arrive at your residence treatment and how that will affect your liability to UK tax. The above answerer is completely wrong!! You could also see the booklet IR20 on their website

If the money is earned in the UK it counts towards taxable income. Of course you still have your whole annual tax allowance before paying any actual tax.

If you are 'not domiciled' in the UK, then you are unlikely to need to pay income tax. If you are an EU citizen, then it is also likely that you will not need to pay National Insurrance either.

Thank you for acting in an honest way :-)

BTW you're already paying all kinds of non-income taxes, even breathing our air is taxed!

As I understand it only a domicile has to pay tax, that is someone who lives in the UK for more than 6 months of the year or resident born in the UK or father born in the UK. However you will have to pay tax in your own country of residence - under double taxation laws you only pay tax of your country.

I can't remember how much, but you have to earn a certain amount before you start paying tax. Unless you're getting paid stupidly large amounts you won't earn enought in 10 weeks.
