If for some reason you don't want them to know your new address, you could call them and make arrangements to pick up your W-2 in person. But it would seem a lot simpler if you just gave them your new address. |

You do if you want your employer to send you W-2 to the right address. All they are required to do, and can do is send your W-2 to that last know address you provide.
If you moved since you worked there, you may want to call them and fax the new address to make sure you do get your tax information on time. |

It will speed up the process. All W-2 are mailed to the last address that is on the company's data base. When they are returned from the post office, we would hold them until the employee would contact us. If we did not hear from them by May, we would put them in the safe. |

If you file a change of address with the post office, the W2 should find you but it is not your previous employer's job to track you down. |
