Do I need a bank account to get my tax refund back?
Just planning ahead... I will not go back to H&R block this year, so I am figuring out what to do. If I did them myself or something, can I get my refund back without a bank account? Or could I get it put on my prepaid Visa card? The prepaid Visa card is where I put my direct deposits, so is that possible?
I worked at a tax place last year and we would gets lots of people's checks to come back to the tax shop...it would take just as long as a Direct Deposit..but they didn't have to have a bank acct. We would call them the day their refund came o us and they could pick it up an hour later (after we printed all of them). Or you could have it mailed to your address or PO Box.

Instead of having it direct deposited like many people do, have your taxes sent to you in check form. You are able to go to walmart and cash the check if you wanted to.

Your choices will be direct deposit into a bank account, or having them mail you a check. Mailing a check will take about a week longer, plus mailing time.

You don't have to have one but your refund will be direct deposited a lot faster then waiting for a paper check to be mailed. H&R block is nothing but a rip off for the fees they charge. Try taxact.com to prepare and electronically file your own taxes...It is a self guided program similar to the one the preparers use at H&R block. They truly don't know a whole lot more about tax law then you do! or you can go to H&Rblock.com and use their software. There are plenty of FREE programs on the web.

If you want it direct deposited, i belive you need a bank account. If you have bad credit and are unable to open a checking account, you could always use a savings, just make sure the account allows ABA deposits.

the irs will mmail you a check that u can cash but it helps to have a bank acount to cash it/ check cashing places cost alot to cash them. prepaid visa is a good idea. also maybe ask to use your parents bank account gL

You either have it direct deposited to your bank account or you can just have them mail you a check.

You don't need a bank acct. it just makes it a lot easier. They will send you as check and most banks should cash it but many wont because you don't have an acct. with them. Sign it over to a friend and have them give you the cash
