Do actors and actresses pay Social Security taxes?
Yes, they pay SS tax just like everyone else. In fact because some are self employed, they pay twice as much. The "company's" share and the "employee's" share.
There is no exemption if you earn more than $100,000!!! You pay the max!!
Tax Man

It depends, if the actor/actress earns 100k or more they do not have to pay social security taxes. My guess is that the government figures you should be securing your own future not depending on a system that may not be around at retiremnt age anyway.

Absolutely. Being considered "self-employed", they pay both the employer and employee portions.
