Yes, you do have to, because that adds to your gross income for the year. You should wait until you receive all of your W2 forms before filing. |

Yes, you need to file a 1040X to declare the extra income and withholding. If you don't wish to, the IRS will send you a letter, towards the end of the year, or next year and correct your tax return, and generally in a way NOT advantageous to you. Also could hold up any refund you're looking for next year. |

Nope, you need to file it, or next year, you'll have a letter from the IRS saying you didn't claim it, this is how much you'll owe...and it will be at least 25% more than you would have owed have you filed it, plus interest and fees.
Trust me...this happened to me this year over a delivery driver job my husband and I forgot to file in 2006, and the W-2 never came...so we had no reminder.
Then, BOOM, you owe X amount of dollars, had to revise our 2006 tax return and still take a big hit out of this year's refund.
Also...if you did this and didn't claim it and were expecting a big refund next year...once you get that letter, it holds off your return by at least 2 to 4 weeks for them to process everything...so PLEASE...file it, get it done. |

you have to add ALL w-2's together. the IRS knows about them all and your refund will be held up and questioned if you don't file everything |

You need to report it. If you've already filed your return, you'll need to file an amended return. |

Yes, you need to include it on your tax return. ALL income must be shown on your return.
If you already filed your return and didn't include the income from the 3rd job then you MUST file an amended return using Form 1040-X and pay any additional tax due by April 15th.
In most cases where you "forget" to include a W-2 on the original return the amended return will show a balance due. When you get your refund from the original return, DO NOT SPEND IT! Use that money first to pay the taxes due with the amended return. If anything is left after that you can then spend it safely.
If you "forget" to file the amended return the IRS will remember for you. In about 18 months or so they'll send you a CP2000 letter telling you that you failed to include some income on your tax return and billing you for the taxes that are due, PLUS penalties and interest from the due date of the original return. That can add 25% to 50% to the total debt so it is in your best interest to clear this up right now. |
