Yes you have to pay. It is a law. It is not your employer's choice. It doesn't matter what state you live in.

Most of your answers are correct. You may want to find a tax return to get a refund of withholding taxes. In addition, your parents may need to take you as an exemption therefore, you may not be able to take yourself as an exemption. Talk to your parents. They really love you.

Whether you pay or not depends solely on the amount of money you make. If you Google the IRS tax guide and look up what tax is applicable to the amount you made in a year, you will have an idea of what you have to pay. You will have to understand a bit about your standard deduction and personal exemption to subtract from the total amount. Many people don't take taxes out because they know they won't make more than a few thousand dollars for the year. If that is your case, tell your employer to have you fill out a w-4 exemption form. Then he will not take out federal tax. You will pay social security only.

Going to school does not exempt you from paying taxes. If your income exceeds the filing requirement amount for your filing status you are required to file a return.

Employers withhold taxes based upon what you file on your Form W-4. They have no option on that one way or the other. Normally enough tax will be withheld from your wages to cover your tax liability and most folks get a partial refund at the end of the year. However if not enough tax is withheld, you must pay when you file.

If your income is very low, no income tax would be withheld however FICA and Medicare taxes will ALWAYS be withheld.

Tax is based on income and deductions.
Some deductions and credits might reduce a student's taxes, but being a student per se won't make you nontaxable.

Check with the IRS, but looking at last year's rules if you were between the ages of 18 and 65, single, and made more than $8,749.00, you would have had to file. Quite often, the taxes are taken out of your paycheck, and you may even get a refund. It all depens on your W-2. Anyway, really you need to check the rules every year because things change. So check the IRS website!

Yes you still have to file your taxes.

Income tax filling is very important if you work full time. That way you will get back any federal taxes the employer deducted that you are owed.
