Do married couples get a bigger tax break than non-married people? Or do you get more back as an independent?
Do you get more back on your refund if you aren't married or are you more likely to get more back as a married person? Additional Details not talking about the credit for having children. Just the credit for being married.
Not that much. MFJ deduction is 10000. Single deduction is 5000. You also have to keep in mind your income goes up so you might be in a higher tax bracket if you are married. If you are married the income limitations are higher for some credits (earned income ect.) It really depends on your situation.

married -- but not much

Depends on How much each person made. If married and one makes more then the other then it is best to figure out witch way you can get back the most money by filing separately or joint. Single your on your own.

depends on income but for low incomes married definetely gives you more back

You get to claim a larger standard deduction and have 6600 instead of 3300 as an additional deduction...but what it really boils down to is...how much do you make, do both of you work...do you have a house and other expenses to where you can take itemized deduction instead.

You get more back as married. The IRS changed the tax code so that you get a bigger deduction and a better tax table.
