Everyone gets taxed. It is just a matter of how much you get back at the end of the year.

in the UK i think they do its only those in full time education that dont. if you got to the DWP website you might find a way of working out what tax you would have to pay it depends on your tax code because they may put you on emergency tax at first. or pop in local job centre.

The earnings you describe don't take you over the threshold of the allowance for a single person , so I would suggest you should pay no tax
You need to have a national Insurance number and that will also get access to notice of tax coding form HM Taxes . If you don't have a tax code you will be on emergency code and will pay tax till you get the proper documentation . However if this does happen you will get all the tax you pay returned .

Who circulates these rumours that students don't pay tax?

You will pay tax if you earn more than £5225 pa. (£100 pw). If you don't work for a full year, then you will be entitled to a tax rebate. Apply to HMRC after you've finished all your work in the tax year.

you need to tell your employer that youre' a full time student at university, and contact tax office in your area.

at the moment roughly 5200 is tax free, average 100.00 pw, anything over that the first 2000 is taxed at 10p in £, then the rest is taxed at 22p in £.

it doesn't work by getting wages every week, then once you get to 5200 you start paying tax, it works in the way you can earn up to 100.00 pw before tax would be deducted, if at end of tax year you haven't earned your tax free amount then a rebate would be noted on your P60 and you can claim it back.

As far as im aware you dont if you are a student, if you find that you are I know that you can claim the money back all you need to do is ask your company for a form (cant remember which one) and will it be sent off to the tax office. (address should be on the form)

No. You only get taxed when you make over a certain amount of money .

If you are not self employed your employer should sort that out for you....Any earnings up to about £2200 are taxed at 10% between that and about £33,000 is taxed at the basic rate of 22% Thats how it works.
There may be some allowances due to you for your education for such things as books fees etc. but not sure, you would have to ask the tax man.
