Yes, we do. I live in Nevada, brothels are legal and the income procured from prostituting in the brothels is just as taxable as your income is.

I had a professor that talked about an issue similar to this- drugs. The interesting thing is that even if it's an illegal dealing technically you are still supposed to claim the income. For example, if they find out a drug dealer had a large amount of income from drug selling and didn't report it, they might charges them penalties and interest. Of course, most people do not divulge this information.

They are supposed to, but since it is illegal in most places in this country except Nevada, it probably isn't a good idea. Any income is reportable per the IRS, but would a bank robber or a hit man declare his income?
