Sally C | Do prostitutes have to pay income tax and national insurance? |
Is it PAYE if you work for an escort agency? |
|

Lestat
 |
Yes.
Only solicitation is illegal, sex acts involving money paid to one party are legal. Whether it is moral or not is open to debate.
If the activities of a prostitute or any other person deriving income from prostitution are organised in such a way as to constitute a trade or profession (ie massage palor, brothels etc), the profits are liable to income tax. This was confirmed by the ‘Miss Whiplash’ case, CIR v Aken [1990] 63TC395. |

Yes and the authoritites even have a list of tax detuctable allowances.
For example we can claim, special clothing, condoms, heating lighting of our premises etc,.
All above board and legit I can assure you.
EDIT
To all the people who are saying prostiution is illegal, it is not. Soliciting is, runniing a brothel is, pimping is but being a prostitute is not. |

All income must be declared and tax paid on it. Either through your employer or you by personally. |

You have to declare all income to the Inland Revenue, whether legal or not. There have been many cases in the past where drug dealers and human traffickers have been back taxed for income they have made from their activities once they have been caught and sentenced. Escorts work for agencies on a contract basis, so won't be on PAYE. |

of coz yes, ull need to pay income tax and national insurance is not necessary coz u receive many In cash not bank or a cheque.. by the way... ESCORTS ARE NOT PROSTITUTES, AND PROSTITUTES ARE NOT ESCORTS.. THANX |

Yes, and they have to work a week in hand |

Depends on whether or not the tax office knows about the earnings. Shame really, but every job has its UPS and DOWNS |

Escorts are not prostitutes. "Our escorts charge for time and companionship only, anything else that might occur is between consenting adults". |
|

Blondie
|
If you were to work in a state or country e.g nervada or new zealand where prostitution or ''broffles'' are legal then they do have to pay tax etc but all places where it is illegal then they do not have to pay anything tax etc. If the escort agency is licenced then they will have to pay. |

Yes they do. When you go into the GOVERNMENT building to fill out the paper work and declare that you will be working for yourself, in the box for 'Occupation'; just put 'whore', I'm sure the guy behind the counter won't bat an eyelid.
Honestly! - what do you really think? |

theres a lot of confusion about this, i thought that what was illegal was making money out of prostitution and therefore there is no tax payable on the money? |
|

EL SHARIFO
 |
no they dont since its illegal. Its like saying do drug dealers have to pay tax... |
|

Rose D
 |
We all have to pay tax, one way or the other. But since prostitution is illegal in this country I think the women do pay Tax im not sure about NI |
|
