That depends on who the "we" is. A single person will pay taxes on income over $8450. A married couple filing a joint return would not owe taxes unless their joint income if over $16,900.

I believe that if you make over 5,000 usd then you have to pay income taxes but if you claim married and 1-2 they will not take hardly any taxes do that for about 5 months then go back and re-do your tax form to your normal thing and then at the end of the year you will get money back and also ask about earned income credit and always add any donations to church,salvation army etc etc..
