i think it's so unfair the way it was decided on when you will get your rebate.i think it should have went solely based on when you filed instead of your last 2 digits of social.b/c who has control of their social security # ?but lots of people have more control of when they file,(i know some people had to wait longer on w-2's than some ) but i still think that it would have been fair to everyone based on how early u filed.
i say that b/c i figure if you filed early like me in january 9th to be exact got direct deposit ,got refund on jan 25th ,didn't pay fees out refund,paid off debit card ,i meet 3 out of 4 requirements to get it early but the 1 i don't meet is my social ending is too high (79) is messed up .now b/c of that i have to wait after people who filed later than me who just got their refund and is now getting their rebate right afterwards.
i figure people who been got their refunds will have spent theirs by now since they got theirs early and could use the extra money

before anybody think i'm whining and hard up for this money think again b/c all my bills are paid and i have thousands of dollars in my savings and checking account right now and can do anything i want with it.
i'm just a strong believer of fairness to all and is just thinking about other people in my shoes as far as the rebate goes but is not as fortunate as me. |

The IRS was not going to start the process until after the primary filing season (April 15).
I imagine they are doing it this way because it it is easier for them to do so. Either it is more efficient, or the computer system is set up in such a way that they didn't have to modify it as much to get the job done.
So maybe they could have issued the checks/deposits in the order that returns were filed. But maybe they wouldn't have been able to start the process until a few months down the road, after they made the necessary system changes.
Also, fretting over two weeks on what is essentially "found money" seems a little odd to me.

My last name starts with W, I was always at the back of the line in school. Now I'm one of the last people to get my tax rebate because of my last two digits of my SSN. I guess I was just meant to be last for random stuff like that.
But, if where I fall in line is my biggest complaint than I must say my life is pretty good. |

Of course you dont think it's fair. I bet you would think it's fair if your SS# ended in 07 and you already got your rebate wouldn't you?
It's far from messed up..the IRS is trying to do things in an organized matter. You should feel lucky that you are getting anything at all. If you feel it's so messed up, send the IRS back your rebate in protest when you get it. |

You know, no matter how the gov. decided to do the rebate checks someone was going to be upset. This seems to be the most logical and simple. They just go down the list that is generated out of a computer and it is orderly and probably the most efficient. Everyone could use the money but just have to be patient. |

No matter how it was done - by ss #, alphabetically, by state or by the color of your house, etc. - there would be people who got theirs first and people who got theirs last. There is no "fair" way to do it. Eventually, everyone will have theirs. |

Anyways, you are getting money back that you wouldn't have if Bush had not of gone and been more of an idiot, so why are you complaining?! This is like the dude the other day that was pissed because his refund will come by check because he paid to file his taxes through his refund...he planned and paid for a vacation based on the May 2nd DD date and had to pay a cancelation fee because he is an idiot. GROW UP AND BE PATIENT! I am very anxious to get that money back so I can finally pay some debt and get my girls things they need, but just like everyone else...I have to wait!
