Do you agree with the government bringing in Green tax ?, Are you happy that they are taxing vehicles more because of emmissions, do you think it will actually help the environment as do you think they are going to spend the money on ways to help the environment or will it be just another chunk of our money to be wasted ?

I personally thing it is a good idea, but the money from this really should go directly into environmental matters.
In the city, there is no reason why people should drive a large 4X4...there is no other reason for it other than the fact that they like the car - and in that case, yes, they should pay extra to run such a gas guzzler. In the country, where such vehicles may be essential to their day to day life then I am not so sure. |

It is just another way to take from the masses under the guise of "we are the governement...trust us"
I think that C.A.R.B. and a few others needs to grow a pair and go after the auto makers in a positive environmental action. When the companies see their profits rise for doing what is actually right and correct, then we start getting good earth friendly AND good looking vehicles. |

I only agree with a tax if it is used for what it is supposed to. The idea of this green tax sounds all well and good - but will the money be used to help the environment? I don't think so. The Government collects some taxes and gets a surplus - but this extra is never used for something else which needs dealing with. It gets stashed away or wasted. The billions it gets from roadusers and petrol etc cannot possibly all be ploughed back into roads, so why can some of it not be used for environmental purposes? |

They are using the environment to create a new tax. there is no solid evidence that "global warming" actually exists. just look at London in Victorian times, they had heavy smog that killed people. and every one had coal fires in there house. It's just another way for the government to make more money so they can give themselves another massive pay rise. |
