only if your're a p/t person and you've paid more within your earning band then you can claim it back at the end of the financial tax year. |

depends on what your tax code is....
if its 520H then you can earn £5200 a year before paying tax.
To find out for sure, get the number of your local tax office and ring them. All you'll need is your national insurance number and they will tell you |

you get a rebate if you pay too much. you will have to wait until the end of the financial year to see whether you get a rebate or you owe anything back to the taxman :D |

Yes, you can get money back.
Generally speaking temporary staff pay tax as if they were going to work for the whole year. If they end up not working for the whole year (as in your case) then generally they will have paid more tax than they need to, in which case they will be entitled to a rebate. Contact your tax office (ask Wilkinsons payroll department for the contact details if you don't have them) or look at the website http://www.hmrc.gov.uk for more info. |

if you didnt give your employer a P45 or some form like that when you started then you were probably put on an emergency tax code which means you pay lots of tax. you will get it back but may mean bit of sorting out. phone wilkinsons up. if you forget about it you will still get it back eventually like when you get next job or somethin. |

You haven't said what your immediate plans are. Form P50 is only appropriate if you are not going to work/claim jobseekers within a month of your leaving Wilkinsons. Interim payment could be made at the end of a month in those circumstances if you are looking for work, but if you are not planning to work again/claim jobseekers before 05/04/08, you could receive a refund applicable for the year.
Also, what were you doing from 06/04/2007 until you started at Wilkinsons? The tax office will not be able to make a refund immediately if their record of your employment history is incomplete. Did Wilkinsons use a week/month 1 code number for you? You should contact the tax office shown on form P45, and they will tell you if they need more information. |

You might get it back, it depends on if you were on emergency tax, if it was your first job then you would of been, thus in your next payslip, or if your not getting another one, at the end of the financial year you MIGHT get it back.
It depends really, but if the long run you get it back, through a state pension, the more you pay tax the more you will get, tax also pays for prisons, roads, the olympics!
I currently pay around £250 tax and £140 National insurence, so think yourself lucky! |

You need to claim on form P50, contact your local inland revenue office. or down load from hmrc website. Send inf form with your P45. |

If you have earned less than 5225 pounds then you are due all your tax back.
Use a tax refund calculator such as this one to help to see if you are due a rebate from the Inland Revenue:
