According to the IRS, you need $3000 in "qualifying income" to receive a rebate.

For the purpose of the stimulus payments, qualifying income consists of earned income such as wages and net self-employment income as well as Social Security or certain Railroad Retirement benefits and veterans’ disability compensation, pension or survivors’ benefits received from the Department of Veterans Affairs in 2007. However, Supplemental Security Income (SSI) does not count as qualifying income for the stimulus payment.

If you have $3000 in qualifying income, then you will receive a total of $900.($300 for you and $300 for each child)

Yes, you will have to file your 2007 tax return.

You don't give us enough information to give you an amount, but in most cases, payments will range from $300 to $600 for individuals and $600 to $1200 for joint filers. Taxpayers may receive $300 for each qualifying child. Payments could be less, depending on tax liabilty and Adjusted Gross Income.

"For recipients of Social Security and certain veterans’ benefits and low-income workers who don’t normally need to file, the IRS also released a special version of a Form 1040A that highlights the simple, specific sections of the return that can be filled out by people in these categories to qualify for a stimulus payment."

If you are referring to the economic stimulus plan, rebates apply to those who either earned 3,000 or more for the 2007 tax year, or are seniors on Social Security. Follow the link below for more info.

yes you have to file a tax return, but if you go to IRS.gov you will get special instruction as to what tax forms you need to file and you could get $300 per child for you kiddos. here is
an example:
Single parent with two children, no wages, veterans’ payments of $2,000, social security benefits of $2,000, no federal income tax liability before child tax credit.
Individual rebate is $300
Qualifying child credit is $600
TOTAL is $900
hope, this helps you.

To receive the stimulus rebate you must file a 1040, depending on how many children you have.
Each adult should receive 600 and each dependent child 300.Go to IRS.gov.
You can file for free.Answers can also be found there on the Rebate.Hope this helps.
