I live in a Private Road, which is full of pot-holes and has no street lighting. I pay full Council Tax - am I entitled to a discount as it's a private road? |

Of course you have to pay council tax and no you are not entitled to a discount if it is a private, unadopted road.
If the road is unadopted and part of a private estate then get the estate managers to sort it out.
Or if there is no estate management then the owners of the land.
Be careful what you wish for though, it may well turn out that you end up paying for the repairs through your service charges. |

No, you're still using the council roads to GET to yours. You also use (or have access to) all the other services the council provides.

and if your road is a problem you can phone your councilor and they can turn your problem into a bill at a council meeting. |

No you are not. Actually i doubt that the local authority comes into it, roads are either 'adopted' or not - yours' is un-adopted - but as far as i know they are 'adopted' (or not) by the Highways Department not by the local council. |
