Legally, yes prostitution income is taxable. You'd file a schedule C or C-EZ showing your income and any associated allowable expenses, and a schedule SE to calculate your self employment tax. The numbers from the bottom of the two schedules will go onto a form 1040 (not 1040EZ or 1040A) to calculate your total tax owed.
I don't suppose that income is commonly reported though. |

The income must be reported. Work uniforms are a deductable expense only if they are not suitable for non-work wear. So your cane is probably not deductable, but your big furry hat might be.
A colleague of mine is trying to come up with a way for her client, an exotic dancer, and maybe a part time hooker, who works private parties only and is paid in cash, can prove the amount of her income. IRS is contending it is $0.00, so she doesn't qualify for the earned income credit. They would accept affidavits from her clients, but she doesn't think any will supply one. |
