Do you live paycheck to paycheck?
does it suck as much for you as it does for me?

Nailsbyn, unfortunately the amount of citizens that live paycheck to paycheck outnumber those who don't. It is a sad situation for most of us.
Part of the problem is a lack of knowledge on how to save, spend, and where to go for the information needed to better the lives of individuals.
There is also the idea that the more schooling you get, the more money you make in the long run. That is not necessarily the case. College knowledge is not necessarily the way too financial freedom. It is the knowledge you learn from your parents, the education of balance in all areas of life.
Most people do not have the ideals of practice what you preach. Working society makes most parents too busy to explain to their children why they work and how they budget the money they make. They expect the schools to educate their children, maybe it is because the parents don't know how to budget, or balance a check book.
Maybe we live paycheck to paycheck because of taxes, 33% of what we make goes to the government and is spent frivolously. And when we work hard and get in a financial bind, the government will help, but they count ALL the money you have made, before they take out what they want, and look you make too much for any kind of assistance.
Not untill WE THE PEOPLE, UNITE TOGETHER, to help each other give advice and assistance without wanting anything in return,
Not untill WE THE PEOPLE, OPEN OUR EARS and quit thinking we know everything and actually listen to others,
Not untill WE THE PEOPLE, get up off our tuffets, stop being lazy know it alls' and work together for a similar goal and HELP OUR OWN COUNTRY, OUR OWN PEOPLE, will individuals and our country be truely free.

AND bostonia...no offence....Don't just give good lucks out to everyone. You could have enlighted us on how you became financially free.
We all need to banish ignorance. "Ignorance is bliss" "The more they know I know, the more they'll expect from me". These are a few of the reasons our country is not number one in the world anymore is because of our adoptions of ridiculous phrases that most seem to live by.

Did you know, a family of three, with one working individual making $8.00 an hour, 37 hours a week, is too much for assistance? That is $296 a week BEFORE TAXES. That makes $1184 a month. Average rent / mortgage is $500-600 ( $684 left) avg. utility electric $100 ($584 left) avg. utility gas $200 ($384 left) avg. home/renters insurance $100 ($284 left) avg. car insurance $100 ($184 left) vehicle petro for the month $120 ($64 left) with these lively requirements....take into concideration I haven't even mentioned food, phone, water, cable, household needs, internet, faulty equipment ie. car, comp, hot water heater, furnace, furnature.

What are we doing to ourselves, to others.
Some smart words to live by....
"Do onto others as you would want done onto you."

Yes I do, it's very scary. Especially as a single mom with a young son. Knowing if one thing gives we could be on the street this winter is terrifying.

I live from one biweekly insult to another, and hope to make it ..

Yes it sucks. Sometimes I think I am doing OK managing but then some big bill comes in and then you skip paying one thing just to pay something else that is a little more important this week. Then next paycheck you are behind because you've got to pay off that thing you skipped 2 weeks ago and I can never seem to catch up. I would love to put something in savings but it seems there is never anything to spare because whatever little is left from the paycheck needs to go for daily living necessities. I feel like I will never get ahead.

bostonianinmo
I used to, but not any more. It took me nearly 40 years to get to where I am now. Good luck, hope it doesn't take you as long.

I refuse to live paycheck to paycheck. It will be a cold day in hell when I let this f***** up world keep me from putting a little away every paycheck. I'll live on macaroni if I have to before I let the government or inflation take my last dollar. I refuse to bend over for today's greedy individuals.

Right now I do. It doesn't suck at all because I am aggressively planning for my retirement. I know there will be a time where I will not be living paycheck to paycheck.

Yes, they don't pay enough for the military. And it is so expensive to live where we are stationed. I always worry if we are going to make it to the next week.
