CHRISTINA C | Do you need to file a W2 for a 2nd pt job that didn't take out state or fed tax? |
I have a full time job, and a part time serving job. I earned $1300 total and they did not take ANY federal or state taxes out. I'm wondering if this needs to be filed?? |

yes because if you got a W-2 then that business turned it into the irs as wages made so you need to report all W-2's you get from all employers |

Yes, you will still have to pay taxes.
Usually a person files quarterly on a job that doesn't take taxes out, so you don't have to pay so much all at once. |

Yes you do and be prepared to pay the government because nothing was taken out. If you are still at this part time job, complete a W4 form for federal taxes to be taken out and the proper state taxes. |

yes you should report it if filing. and if you only made $1300 total you don't need to file at all but you should to get back what you paid in. but if you do file you'll get back what was paid in on your first W-2 minus what should have been taken out of your second W-2. |

Yes it definitely has to be filed along with your other W-2. |

Of course you do! You still have to pay taxes on that income. The IRS already knows about the income and will come looking for the tax if you don't include it, plus penalties and interest for late payment of the tax. It might take a year or more for that to happen, but it will.
And please ignore MoB! She has not clue what she's talking about. Her advice WILL get you in trouble. |

Your tax return covers ALL of your income. Unless both jobs total less than the filing requirement, you need to list both. |

No, since no federal or state income taxes were not taken out, you did not make enough to need to file. Now if you had made $3000 even if they didn't take out taxes, you woud still file in order to get the $300 rebate. Is there someone else who might be able to claim you as a dependent that at least someone benefits from claiming you and may get the educational credits for you on their return. A parent perhaps?
The following irs web site wil explain why you do not have to file a return. Folks, before you post here, please read the irs rules below and start marking my answer as wrong. |
