You'll need to claim Council Tax Benefit from your Local Authority. Contact them at your local Access Office.

Whilst on JSA you are still liable in full for any Council tax due - you need to apply for Council tax Benefit and see if they will pay the Council Tax for you.

If they pay it for you then its great but make sure they are paying in full - I deal with a lot of cases of people on benefits who have not had Council Tax paid in full or have just assumed that they don't have to pay because they received JSA.

From a legal point of view, you are responsible for continuing payments until the day that any Council Tax benefit is paid although if you explain to your local Council tax dept they may hold recovery whilsy your waiting for the Council Tax benefit to be awarded.

yes but you are in titled to council tax benefit witch usually covers the amount you have to pay or you may have to fill in the council tax benefit form again and make sure you put the day you started to get your income support or j.s.a. i hope this was help full to you

im on jsa allowence and just recieved a letter stating that im in arrears with my council tax and should of been paying £4.40 a week since sept 2010. i dont understand it.
